This function works automatically; there are no extra steps
involved in using Calling Number.
* Per-Call Blocking

Listen for the dial tone.

Press *67 (dial 1167 for rotary phones)

Proceed dialing the number of the person you are calling.
(Note: Your number will be blocked for this call only. You must follow
the procedure each time you wish to block your number.)
* Per-Line Blocking

Listen for the dial tone.

Press *82 (dial 1182 for rotary phones)

Proceed dialing the number of the person you are calling. (Note: Your number
will appear for this call only. You must follow this procedure each time
you want to unblock your number.)

Custom Local Area Signaling Services (CLASS)
* Automatic Callback
To Use Automatic Callback:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *66 (dial 1166 for rotary phones); then dial the number you are calling.
-
If the line is busy, Automatic Callback will be automatically activated.
A recording will tell you to hang up.
When your party is available, your phone notifies you with a special
ring! Pick up the phone to complete your call.
To De-activate Automatic Callback:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *86 (dial 1186 for rotary phones)
-
When the recording notifies you that the service is de-activated, hang
up.
* Auto Recall
To Use Auto Recall:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *69 (dial 1169 for rotary phones)
-
Listen to the recording to find out the time, date, and phone number of
the last call.
-
To re-dial immediately, press (or dial) 1, and wait for an answer. (If
you do not want to return the call, simply hang up.)
To De-activate Auto Recall:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *89 (dial 1189 for rotary phones)
-
When you hear the recording, hang up.
NOTE: If you use Auto Recall to return a toll call, you will be
charged for a toll call. This service does not work with certain cordless
or novelty telephone models.
* Selective Call Forwarding
To Use Selective Call Forwarding:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *63 (dial 1163 for rotary phones)
-
Listen for the recording telling you if the feature is on or off and how
many names you have on your list. You'll also receive instructions on how
to input a new forwarding number or to confirm an existing number.
-
Follow the voice instructions and press (or dial) any of the following
commands to change the status of your Selective Call Forwarding feature:
* To change the on/off setting, press or dial 3
* To hear the phone numbers on your list, press or dial 1
* To add a new number to your list, press # and follow the voice instructions.
* To add the last caller to your list, press #01#
* To remove a number from your list, press * and follow the voice instructions.
* To repeat the instructions, press or dial 0
* Selective Call Rejection
To Use Selective Call Rejection:

Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *60 (dial 1160 for rotary phones)
-
Listen for the recording to find out if the feature is on or off. The recording
will tell you how many numbers are currently in your list of numbers to
be blocked.
-
Follow the voice instructions and press any of the following commands to
change the status of your Selective Call Rejection feature:
* To hear the phone numbers on your list, press or dial 1
* To add a new number to your list, press # and follow the voice instructions.
* To add the last caller to your list, press #01#
* To remove a number from your list, press * and follow the voice instructions.
* To repeat the instructions, press or dial 0
To De-activate Selective Call Rejection:

Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *80 (dial 1180 for rotary phones).
-
When you hear the recording, hang up. The service is turned off.
* Selective Call Acceptance
To Use Selective Call Acceptance:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *64 (dial 1164 on rotary phones).
-
The recording will tell you whether your Selective Call Acceptance feature
is turned on or off and how many numbers are on your list.

Follow the voice instructions and press any of the following commands to
change the status of your Selective Call Acceptance feature:
* To hear the list of currently stored numbers, press or dial 1.
* To add a new number to your list, press # and follow the voice instructions.
* To remove a number from your list, press * and follow the voice instructions.
* To repeat the instructions, press or dial 0
To De-activate Selective Call Acceptance:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *84 (dial 1184 for rotary phones).
-
When you hear the recording, hang up. The service is turned off.
* Distinctive Ringing
To Use Distinctive Ringing:
-
Listen for dial tone.
-
Press *61 (dial 1161 for rotary phones).
-
The recording will tell you whether your Distinctive Ringing feature is
activated.
-
Follow the voice instructions and press (or dial) any of the following
commands to change the status of your Distinctive Ringing features:
* To de-activate Distinctive Ringing, press *81 (1181 for rotary phones)
* To hear the list of phone numbers you've chosen for the Priority Call/Call
Waiting feature, press 1
* To add a new number to your list, press # and follow the voice instructions.
* To remove a number from your list, press * and follow the voice instructions.
* To add the last caller to your list, press #01#.
* To repeat the instructions, press or dial 0.
* Call Trace
To Use Call Trace:
-
After hanging up from the call you wish to have traced, pick up the phone
and listen for a dial tone.
-
Press *57 (dial 1157 for rotary phones) to initiate the trace.
-
Listen for the recording confirming the trace has taken place. Hang up.
The information is now stored at the telephone company.
Custom Calling Service Features
* Call Waiting
To Use Call Waiting:
-
Call Waiting alerts you to a second call with a beep tone.
-
You may place the first caller on hold by pressing the hookswitch briefly.
This automatically connects you to the second caller.
-
Briefly pressing the hookswitch again allows you to switch back to your
other caller. You can alternate between the callers as often as you like,
maintaining privacy in each conversation.
-
To end either call, hang up. The phone will ring again. Pick up the phone
and resume talking with the remaining caller.
To Temporarily De-activate Call Waiting:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *70 (dial 1170 for rotary phones) and listen for the confirmation
tone.
-
When you hear a normal dial tone, proceed with your call.
NOTE: Call Waiting is automatically reactivated when your call is
finished.
* Call Forwarding/All Calls
To Use Call Forwarding/All Calls:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *72 (dial 1172 for rotary phones).
-
Wait for another dial tone and dial the number to which you are forwarding
your calls.
-
If someone answers at the forwarded number, Call Forwarding/All Calls is
automatically activated; if there is no answer or the line is busy, hang
up and repeat the steps above within two minutes. Two beeps will indicate
the service is activated.
To Turn Off Call Forwarding/All Calls:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *73 (dial 1173 for rotary phones).
-
Two beeps indicate the feature is deactivated.
To Change Your Call Forwarding/All Calls Number:
-
Follow the steps for "To Turn Off Call Forwarding/All Calls " listed above.
-
Next, follow the steps under "To Use Call Forwarding/All Calls" listed
above and simply input the new forwarding number.
* Call Forwarding/Busy
To use Call Forwarding/Busy:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *90 (dial 1190 for rotary phones).
-
Wait for another dial tone and then dial the phone number to which you
are forwarding your calls.
-
If the line you are forwarding calls to is busy or unanswered, hang up
and repeat the procedure within 2 minutes. A confirmation tone will notify
you that the feature is turned on.
To Turn off the Call Forwarding/Busy feature:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *91 (1191 for rotary phones).
-
When you hear the confirmation tone, the service is turned off.
* Call Forwarding/No Answer
To Use Call Forwarding/No Answer:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *92 (dial 1192 for rotary phones).
-
After you hear the second dial tone, use the keypad to determine how many
times your phone will ring before incoming calls are forwarded. Then, dial
the phone number you are forwarding calls to.
-
When you receive an answer, the Call Forwarding/No Answer feature is activated.
If the call is busy or unanswered, try again within 2 minutes and listen
for the confirmation tone to tell you the feature is activated.
To Turn Off Call Forward/No Answer:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *93 (1193 on rotary phones).
-
The confirmation tone notifies you that the service is turned off.
* Call Forwarding Remote Access
To Use Call Forwarding Remote Access:
-
Using any touch tone phone, dial the access number provided by The North-Eastern
Pennsylvania Telephone Company.
-
When the line rings, listen for a special dial tone.
-
Dial the number of the phone that has your Call Forwarding feature.
-
Enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN).
-
When you hear the special dial tone, you can proceed to change the Call
Forwarding number. Proceed with one of your Call Forwarding options: Call
Forwarding/All Calls, Call Forwarding/Busy, or Call Forwarding/No Answer.
* Remote Call Forwarding
No instructions.
* Remote Call Forwarding to a Local Directory
Number
No instructions.
* Three-Way Calling
To Use Three-Way Calling:
-
Place your existing call on hold by pressing the hookswitch briefly.
-
Listen for a dial tone.
-
Dial the third party number and wait for an answer. You can talk privately
before returning to your original caller, if desired.
-
With the third party now on the line, press the hookswitch again to add
the caller you placed on hold.
NOTE: If the third party line is busy or unanswered, return to the
original caller simply by briefly pressing the hookswitch again.
To disconnect the third party from the call:
-
Press the hookswitch briefly again.
Return to your conversation with the original caller.
To disconnect completely:
-
Hang up the phone.
-
Any remaining parties can continue their conversation.
* Call Transfer
To Use Call Transfer:
-
Press the hookswitch briefly to place the person you are talking to on
hold.
-
Listen for the dial tone and then dial the third person's number.
-
When the third person answers, you may speak privately.
-
When you are ready to complete the transfer, briefly press and release
the hookswitch. Both individuals will now be on the line.
-
You may hang up to allow the other two individuals to continue their conversation.
To Cancel Call Transfer:
-
Press the hookswitch twice at any point to be connected back to the original
caller.
* Speed Calling
To Set Up Your Speed Calling Phone List:
-
Listen for dial tone.
-
Press *74 (dial 1174 for rotary phones) to input 1-digit access codes or
*75 (dial 1175 for rotary phones) to input 2-digit access codes.
-
Listen for another dial tone.
-
Dial in the access code you choose, followed by the phone number you wish
to assign (for long distance calls, be sure to include 1+area code).
-
Listen for two short tones as confirmation that your speed calling number
has been accepted.
-
Repeat this process for each number you add to your list, using a new two-digit
code for each.
To Use Speed Calling:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press or dial the two-digit code for the number you wish to call.
-
Your call will be placed automatically.
To Change Your List of Phone Numbers:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *75 (dial 1175 for rotary phones)
-
When you hear the dial tone again, dial the one- or two-digit speed code
you want to change and listen for the cancellation tone, followed by another
dial tone.
-
When you hear the next dial tone, enter the speed code you wish to assign
and then the new telephone number. Enter # when finished.
-
A confirmation tone will notify you that the change is completed.
* Ring Again
To Activate the Ring Again Feature:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *94 (dial 1194 for rotary phones) plus the number you wish to reach.
-
If the line you're calling is busy, a voice recording notifies you that
Ring Again is activated. You may hang up until the distinctive ring tells
you your call can be connected. After 30 minutes, you will need to repeat
the process if your call has not been returned.
To De-activate Ring Again:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Press *95 (dial 1195 for rotary phones).
-
When you hear the voice recording, you may hang up. The service is now
turned off.
* Teen Service
No instructions.
* Home Intercom
To Use Home Intercom:
-
Listen for the dial tone.
-
Dial your own phone number.
-
When you hear the message, hang up.
-
All in-house phones will then ring. The first person to pick up the phone
will hear an intercom tone alerting them there is an "in-house" call.
-
When the other person answers, you can begin your conversation.
